What is the minimum age for children to shoot?

We recommend that children should be 11 plus.

What is the maximum group size and what is the maximum party size?

The maximum number per group is 5.  However, we can accommodate parties of any size up to 50 people split into groups no larger than 5.

Can I shoot alone do you have solo delay on the traps?

The majority of our traps have the Solo Delay function.

Bad weather and cancellations

Our stands are covered and therefore we seldom cancel lessons. You would be contacted as soon as possible should we ever need to cancel your shooting. Our policy is 48 hours to move a booking free of charge, should you wish to cancel your booking 50% of the booking value is refundable.

What clothing and footwear do you suggest?

You do not need to wear anything specific, all safety equipment is provided.  However, bear in mind we are in the Yorkshire Dales and the weather can be unpredictable.  Sturdy shoes are highly recommended.

Can you accommodate groups with mixed abilities, ie. novice shooters and experienced shooters together?

Absolutely, your instructor will assess your ability and pitch the lesson accordingly.

Are dogs allowed on the ground and in the clubhouse?

Well behaved dogs are welcome in the club house and around the grounds. Please be responsible dog owners and respect others.

Do you offer Gun Hire?

No, we do not offer gun hire.  The only way to use our guns is to book a lesson with one of our instructors.

What cartridges can I use at your ground, are there any restrictions?

Plastic and Fibre wads can be used at on the grounds.  Nothing above 28g 6 may be used.  We do not allow Superfast or DTL300 cartridges.  Anyone using these will be asked to leave the ground.

What about Gift Vouchers?

All Gift Vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase.  Non-transferrable and non-refundable.

How much do you charge per clay?

Members pay 30 p per clay and non-members pay 37 p per clay.

Can I shoot more than 35 clays on my lesson?

Each lesson is individual to the shooter(s). Should it be appropriate, at your request you can shoot extra clays on your lesson either with your own cartridges or with ours. This will be charged for at the end of the lesson.

Do I need hats and glasses?

Safety glasses must be worn when shooting and on some stands (ie. The Grouse Butt) hats are mandatory. These stands are sign posted. Anyone not using the proper safety equipment or not will be asked to do so or vacate the stand.

Would you store my gun for me?

Yes, we store guns at a cost of £5 per week. You can store multiple guns should you need. Upon signing the guns in with us, you will be provided with paperwork to be sent to your relevant Force.

What disciplines do you offer?

Sporting, English Skeet, Olympic Skeet, DTL, ABT, UT and simulated game. Such as high pheasant and grouse butts.
